Shelby's dress

Here it is finished and blocking. Instead of botching the yoke trying to embroider flowers I added some beadwork. I should make a swatch and try the embroidering before I make another. Posted by Picasa

Norman Ward 56 Years Serving the Lord

Last night the church (Eastview Christian Church) honored Norman for being in the ministry for 56 years. He is just one of the most soft spoken (although they teased him about not needing a microphone) gentlemen we have met. He not only planted churches stateside, but was also into missions. Serving in Burma and Thailand and many other places (where one of his sons also is a minister/missionary). Congratulations Norman and Joanne. It was pointed out that the only way he could have been available to so many was because of his wonderful and generous and gentle wife. She is a joy to talk to, inspiring me (and others) to be a better helpmates also.

And here is such a beautiful site, I had to show it. God loves us sooooo much that He gives us His Masterpieces to look at and admire for free. If we would only stop and take the time to view them. I am so glad that most of the time, I have my camera with me. Posted by Picasa

Seasons

Ps 1:3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whater he does, he prospers.

Knitting

I have started a new pair of .........er....................mmmmmmmm...........aaahhhhh socks. Didn't see that one coming, did ya. lol and I started the little dress for Shelby. I am doing it in Wool-ease Heather. I will instruct that she is to have a white blouse and onsie under it because I know it will probably be "itchy".

Don't you hate it when they say that after all the hard work you put into something? I may go and see if I can find a blouse and send it on with the dress. I know Janet will like it but will Shelby? Did I mention that she is a "strong-willed" child. Cute as a button, but boy does she give everyone a run for their money!

A Called and Saved Knitter

“Keep one thing in view forever- the truth; and if you do this, though it may seem to lead you away from the opinion of men, it will assuredly conduct you to the throne of God.”
— Horace Mann

This is so true. We think because a man has graduated from seminary that he is the authority when he speaks to us from the pulpit. But I heard once that treasury agents learn to spot counterfeit money, not by looking at the bad bills, but by studying the real thing.

You can't know if you are being "fed" sermons that may have started out wonderful but the longer you listen, the more uncomfortable you are with the whole sermon. But, if you study the word for yourself, you will be able to discern truths of man vs. God's truth. (And this can only happen if you believe the Bible as God's inerrant truths.) Press on.

My local library is kind of sad when it comes to knitting books. So my hunny bought me a PLAC card and it lets me borrow from all the librarys. This was a great find. Some really sweet pieces. I think that top right dress is right up Miss Shelby's alley. Posted by Picasa

1 Lone Paragrene Falcom

In the spring I checked in on the falcom cam and sure enough, Kathy was in there laying eggs. well eventually she laid 4. one of them was not viable and was later removed. The three remaining eggs produced 1 male and 2 females. Since I had saved the site in my favorites, after they had all fledged, I would check into the site occationally just to see downtown Indy. Well after checking sever times I realized that one of the falcons is still hanging out at the nest box on a real regular basis. So today I am going to try and find out if this is normal. That falcon sure looks very lonely to me. Posted by Picasa
